I am in recovery for compulsive overeating, bullimia, and anorexia. I currently am almost my normal weight. I ate to stuff my anger and sadness. I have weighed as much as 350 lbs. I love recovery.
If you have issues with food, post here . . .
Eating, or not eating, are mood-altering experiences. When you eat too much, or don't eat at all, you are distracted from underlying feelings like anxiety, depression, anger, and fear. Drugs are also a coping mechanism. You are trying to cope with the feelings that haunt you from the past.
It is best to get help if you use food to alter your mood. I suggest Celebrate Recovery or Overeaters Anonymous.
No matter how addicted you are, there is hope for a brighter tomorrow. Take the first step and Christ will guide you the rest of the way.
